FS21 Stars Memorial Day Recap
This past Memorial Day, FS21 had 3 teams in action. The 2025 and 2026 teams were in the Perfect Game WWBA Memorial Day Classic. The 12u/2028 team started their week-long tournament in Cooperstown, NY at Cooperstown Dreams Park.
The 2026 Stars had themselves a weekend! They took to a field of 46 teams in the 14U Majors division and came out as dominant champions. As a team they went 3-0 during pool play, drawing the #3 seed for Monday bracket play. Stars continue to roll with a 15-0 win and 8-0 win to secure a spot in the championship game.
The game was close early on, but the Stars pulled ahead and never looked back with a 8-1 victory and crowned tournament champions.
Congratulations to Ryan Harwood for earning tournament Most Valuable Player and Noah Weiss for taking home Most Valuable Pitcher.
The 2025 Stars finished at the top of their pool, going undefeated and making the bracket of 9 teams of the 34 that advanced. They had an opening round, 9-inning back and forth victory against Canes Arizona. They went to the quarterfinals where they faced Hawaii Elite and came up short, 8-5. Hawaii went on to win the tournament. “For the first tournament back following the high school season, it was good to have the guys back together and getting into the swing of things the was FS21 does it. We noticed that we have some work to do to get back in the championship game and have full confidence that we will do so in the summer tournaments ahead,” says Michael Yanke, 2025 head coach.
Our 2028 team headed to Cooperstown to take part in the annual summer classic known as the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament.
The boys… and parents, worked hard all year raising funds to make the trek across the country to upstate New York to participate in the fun and memorable event. Teams from around the country attend this tournament for one week, every week during the summer, 13 consecutive weeks.
Our boys were issued week 1 and take the field for 7 pool play games before heading to the bracket. So far, so good.
This is the final event for the 12u season, and the boys move up to 13u in August.
